LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM - Eight week program for children ages 5 through 12 starting Friday, January 5, 2018 through February 23, 2018, 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the William Connell Rink on Broad Street in Weymouth, MA. Each child will need a helmet, hand coverings ( mittens or gloves) and single blade ice skates and must be ready to take the ice at the start of the class. Professional instructors provide age appropriate beginner and advanced skill training. Skill evaluations will be conducted at the first class. Registration is on a "first come basis" at the Braintree Recreation Office, 85 Quincy Avenue beginning on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. The cost is $75.00 per child. Because of the number limits for this program, you will only be allowed to register your own immediate family. No friends or neighbors. Child's birth certificate and proof of residency will be required. Payment in cash or check payable to the "Town of Braintree". There are no phone orders or on-line registrations. Join Celebration Tours II the last Thursday of the month (August 31st, September 28th, October 26th, November 30th, and December 28th) for a fun visit to Foxwoods Resort Casino - one of the largest casinos in the world! The trip departs at 7:30 AM from Marina Bay in Quincy and includes round-trip transportation, time for shopping at the Tanger Outlets, $10.00 food credits, and a complementary $10.00 play. Braintree Recreation is offering skiing and snowboarding lessons at the Blue Hills Ski Area for children ages 8 through 15. Lessons are scheduled for Tuesdays, January 2,9,16,23,30, 2018 from 4:30pm to 5:45pm, weather and snow conditions permitting. Bus leaves from Braintree Town Hall promptly at 3:30pm and returns at approximately 6:30pm. Cost of the program including bus transportation: $290 - Program Lesson, Equipment Rental and Snow Pass (does not include helmet); $205 - Program Lesson and snow Pass (must have own equipment); $205 - Program Lesson and Rental (must have Blue Hills season Pass); $125 - Program Lesson Only (must have Blue Hills season pass and own equipment); $30 - Helmet Rental. Registration begins Monday, November 20, 2017, 4:30pm to 6:30pm, at the Recreation Office, on a first come basis. Thereafter, registration is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, at the Recreation Office. Deadline to register is Thursday, December 21, 2017. Parents or guardians are required to register their child at the Recreation Office as neither phone nor on-line registrations are permitted.
