Sunset Lake Jr. Sailing Classes
These sailing lessons are being held through the generous support and cooperation of the Braintree Yacht Club members.
The Community Junior Sailing Program will be entering its 15th summer season at Sunset Lake. Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 15 who are residents of the town may sign up for classes that will be held either in the morning or afternoon.
General Information
- All youngsters must be able to pass a swimming test consisting of a 75 yard swim, treading water for one minute and float on their back for one minute as well.
- Lifejackets for all students will be issued each class.
- Several Optimist model teaching sailboats are used in the classes.
- To enroll, parents must accompany a child when registering at the lake. Registrations for both sessions will only be taken at the Lake on June 21-23 between the hours of 9am-3pm
- The classes are restricted in numbers and registrations will be held on a first come basis.
- There will be two sessions held during the summer vacation period and each session will involve 8 classes over four weeks each session.
